Students enrolled in grades K-8 attend P.E. class twice a week and receive a minimum of one and a half hours of exercise and detailed instruction.
The primary objective of our program is to refocus our students’ attitude toward physical activity and foster a greater understanding of its relationship with lifelong health and personal well-being. Daily instruction coincides with the guidelines established by the California Department of Ed. Physical Education Content Standards and encompass the fundamental areas of aerobic, strength and flexibility training as well as the detailed instruction of sport-specific skills, the promotion of greater nutritional awareness and the development of a basic understanding of muscular and cardiovascular function.
Each student’s academic grade is based solely on the detailed measurement and evaluation of their dedication, hard work and individual progress throughout the given trimester. No “guesswork” is utilized in assigning grades and students will never be compared to the individual progress of their peers, only to themselves.
P.E. uniforms are worn to school on P.E. days, except when there is schoolwide Mass in the morning. Uniforms may be purchased in the school office. Sweatshirts and sweatpants are available from Vicki Marsha Uniforms.
Sponsored by the Anaheim Ducks.

The PAL Track Meet is a wonderful event and a great opportunity to expose our students to the diverse world of competitive athletics beyond the immediate surroundings of Blessed Sacrament School. Catholic and private schools from across Orange County participate in the annual event. Last year, we sent a team of more than 100 students to compete in a field of over 2000 of their peers! As always, it was a tremendously fun and memorable experience for everyone involved and our students represented BSS remarkably well, including being named the Small School Champion for the event’s junior high division.
Our parents are strongly encouraged to consider enrolling their children to participate. They will gain immeasurably from the experience. Entry forms must be turned in to the school office by Tuesday, April 8. After-school practices will begin the following week.
